Following their impressive performance in the English Premier League last season, where they had one hand on the title, before throwing it away to Manchester City, many expected Liverpool to once again be in the title race this season. However, the start of the season has not exactly gone great, with Liverpool finding themselves off the pace after five matches.
Fortunately for Liverpool though, they have not had a fully fit squad so far this season but now, Summer signing Adam Lallana has returned from injury, which could be of great importance to the club. Liverpool striker Rickie Lambert says that having a fully fit Adam Lallana could be the key to getting Liverpool back into the title race.
Lambert was speaking to Liverpoolfc.com, when he explained, "He's going to bring a whole new dimension to the team. He was unlucky to get injured at a vital time in pre-season. No player likes to get injured at that time. He's come back and he's looking strong. He's only going to get stronger."
He added, "He's missed out on a few weeks, and there's nothing he can do about that. But his attitude has been first-class in training. He's been desperate to get back. That extra strength and that extra speed will come back over the next few weeks and you will be seeing the best of Adam Lallana, without a doubt."
Liverpool have only managed two league wins, from their first five games of the season, leaving them in 11th place in the English Premier League on just six points, while leaders Chelsea are seven points ahead of them on 13 points. We look forward to seeing how the rest of the season pans out.
