Actress AnnaSophia Robb recently had her fans laughing and has filmmakers along with entertainment insiders transfixed with her comedic/dramatic star acting performance in the spoof of "The Little Mermaid" by director Sofia Coppola for "Funny or Die". She co-starred in the two minute video with American Horror Story actor Evan Peters playing the Prince as they provide a comedic enactment of the Hans Christian Andersen's story.
She is hilarious in the role of the Ariel as she provides some "wide-eyed gazes and cartoon facial expressions" which are so memorable that viewers forget that she was once the actress who starred in "The Carrie Diaries". The story revolves around her as a mermaid who is able to replace her fins for legs and be a normal girl. She falls in love with a Prince upon leaving the water but she quickly receives a shock when her Prince who was at first charming turns out to be moody and curt and far from her ideal man.
Her ability to control the audience with the dramatic range she shows through both her dialogue and facial expressions and her presence in this hilarious short represents a great way for her to to help show how she can dominate a scene. In this short video she shows several dimensions of her character with her reactions and likely has filmmakers enthused about the opportunity to potentially work with her in bigger projects.
She will next be seen in a feature role in the thriller movie "A Conspiracy on Jekyll Island" along with Dianna Agron and Minnie Driver. Entertainment insiders are speculating that if AnnaSophia Robb's performance is as expected, on the level of her hilarious two minute "Little Mermaids" spoof for "Funny or Die", her biggest problem will likely be choosing a role from one of the many projects she is offered from filmmakers.
