From the moment that it was announced that Netflix were going to bring us a string of Marvel television series, we could not wait to see them released, with the knowledge that we were going to see them get a crossover series. While we are all still very excited to see The Defenders and this crossover series, there has still been plenty of talk about when we are going to see these characters appearing in a Marvel movie.

However, it now looks like we are never going to get to see any of these small screen characters actually appearing on the big screen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with no plans in place for it to happen any time soon. Now, Anthony Mackie, who plays the role of The Falcon in the Marvel movies, has been talking about the lack of crossover, with Anthony insisting that it just would not work.

Mackie explained, "Different universes, different worlds, different companies, different designs. Kevin Feige is very specific about how he wants the Marvel Universe to be seen in the film world. It wouldn’t work. It wouldn’t work at all."

It really is a shame that we are not going to get to see the likes of Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, or Iron Fist mixing it on the big screen with The Avengers, but we do still get to see these four Marvel characters getting to appear on the small screen together. The characters will team up for the new Marvel Netflix series The Defenders, which finished shooting this month and is expected to land in September this year.
