You would think that having worked in the acting industry for as long as she has done, it would all come very natural and easy for actress Blake Lively, especially when it comes to a simple audition for a role in a movie. However, it seems that even the top stars in Hollywood can get a bit starstruck from time to time.
Blake Lively has a role in the new Woody Allen movie Cafe Society, a role which she won by going and doing an audition for the Hollywood legend. It seems that Blake was quite lucky to actually win the role though, as she has revealed how she almost let her nerves at auditioning in front of Woody get the better of her.
Lively explained, "It was very intimidating. You've never seen anything, you don't know anything about the role. You walk in, they say, 'Here's 10 pages, take your time', and about five minutes later they say, 'OK, have you had enough time?' (I said), 'Oh no, I take much more time than this'. They just bring you in the room and a couple of people are sitting there, Woody is sitting there and he says, 'Go ahead'."
She added, "There are no cameras, nothing. And he said, 'OK, can you do it one more time, but just louder', because I think I was so terrified I was probably (whispering)... (It was) like a subtitled audition. They let you see a script after that, and they said, 'If you don't like the script, you don't have to do it', but he's (Woody) such a brilliant writer, how would you not like the script?"
Cafe Society is set to hit the big screen on July 15 in the US, before then going on to open in the UK on September 2.
