When a couple of Hollywood stars begin to start dating, it becomes the talk of the world, so when that romance then comes to an end, the rumours as to why the split happened then begin to spread. That was certainly the case for Charlize Theron and Sean Penn, with Charlize now coming out to talk about the break up, stating that things simply did not work out.
Theron told WSJ magazine, "There is a need to sensationalize things. When you leave a relationship there has to be some f--king crazy story or some crazy drama. And the f--king ghosting thing, like literally, I still don't even know what it is. It's just its own beast. We were in a relationship and then it didn't work anymore. And we both decided to separate. That's it."
Meanwhile, while Charlize Theron and Sean Penn were together, there were a number of different rumours suggesting that the actor was going to adopt her son Jackson, which the actress also decided to touch on. Charlize says that she and Sean were only together for a short amount of time, so there was absolutely no truth in these rumours whatsoever.
Theron added, "We were very, very new in a relationship. The stories that Sean was going to adopt Jackson, and all of that was not true. It's not something that happens in 18 months. You can't do that to a child."
As far as her acting career is concerned, Charlize Theron will soon appear on the big screen, reprising her role as Ravenna in the upcoming movie The Huntsman: Winter's War, which is set to hit the big screen on April 4 in the UK and on April 22 in the US.
