Claire Danes has won every major award under the sun for her performance as Carrie Mathison in the critically acclaimed Showtime drama 'Homeland'. However, with the third season of the show coming up, will she manage to repeat her wins next year?
Critics and experts are saying something major would have to happen for her not to. Although she's already won the Emmy and the Golden Globe for 'Homeland', experts are saying that she's a lock to repeat her wins for the show next year as well.
Experts at Gold Derby, the site that keeps track of award season and momentum all year long, conducted a poll. Most of the users and editors agreed that Danes was the likely winner at the Emmys next year, with a whopping 90% voting in her favor. Michelle Dockery came second, for Downton Abbey, and everybody else's odds were almost negligible.
The third season of Homeland will return this fall, with season two ending on a major cliffhanger. While plot details for the third season have not been released, the show is rumored to begin shooting again this summer. The main question seems to be whether Damian Lewis' character Agent Brody will be featured in the third season in a major role, and for that, we'll just have to wait and see.
