British beauty Daisy Ridley has become one of the most talked about stars on the face of the Earth, thanks to landing the role of Rey in the record-breaking movie Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens. When Daisy was cast in the role, she was not allowed to tell anyone but, due to the fact that she had to work out for the role, her body transformation almost gave the game away.
Ridley was chatting to the guys over at the American OK! magazine, when she explained to them, "Yes (I trained) for three months, five hours a day. It's weird when you can't tell people what (film) you're doing and they're, like, 'Why are you so muscly?' And I'm, like, 'I'm at the gym, by myself.'"
Well the hard work clearly paid off, as Daisy Ridley looked in great shape for Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens, even if she did find herself covered in sand for much of the film. Star Wars make-up artist Amanda Knight recently spoke about working with Daisy, admitting that the actress worked really hard on the movie.
Knight said, "We took sand from the desert where we were filming and boiled it in water to sterilise it. Then we'd stick it on Daisy's face before each take. But it didn't really matter. When she was filming fight scenes, she was face down in the sand anyway. And there was nothing sterile about that at all. Poor Daisy really went through it."
Well, Daisy Ridley will have it all to go through again, when she begins filming for the next instalment of the Star Wars franchise, which is due to hit the big screen on May 26, 2017 in both the US and the UK. We cannot wait.
