When you are a young girl growing up, no matter whether you have any sort of singing and music talent or not, you can always take inspiration from those who are currently doing their thing in the music industry. That was certainly the case for the hugely talented Demi Lovato, with Demi admitting that she has taken a huge amount of inspiration from Christina Aguilera, especially when she was growing up.
Lovato explained, "£I grew up listening to Christina Aguilera. She was one of my idols growing up. She still is. Her voice is incredible, and in 'Stripped' you really got to hear that. I think it was her breakout album that really transformed her into the icon that she is today. So that inspired me ... she really inspired this album. I was even inspired by the black and white artwork!"
As well as taking inspiration from Christina Aguilera, it is no surprise that Demi Lovato has also taken plenty of the events from her own life and adapted them into music form. Demi may still only be 25 years old but she has already been through so much in her life, which really does show through her music.
Lovato added, "You know my personal journey. I have been through a lot over the last year-and-a-half. I've done a lot of growing and I wanted an album that best represented who I am. My sound, I wanted it to be more authentic to who I am, which is more soulful and more R&B. And I wanted people to be able to relate to every song on the album."
Well you have certainly been doing a fantastic job so far, Demi, and we are sure that you will continue to work at the top of the music industry for many more years to come.
