When it was announced that the Terminator movie franchise was getting a reboot of sorts, recasting some of the characters we have grown to love over the years, there was a lot of interest in the news that Emilia Clarke had been cast in the role of Sarah Connor, a role which was made famous by actress Linda Hamilton in the first two Terminator movies.
In the 1984 original movie The Terminator, Linda Hamilton introduced is to a young, very innocent and very nonviolent Sarah Connor, who had feathered hair and wore acid washed jeans, needing the help of Kyle Reese to escape Arnold Scwarzenegger's Terminator. In the 1991 sequel Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Linda gave us a totally different Sarah Connor, following the events in between the two films.
In Terminator 2: Judgement Day, Sarah Connor was a violent fighting machine who had trained herself in weaponry and how to fight, while sculpting her body with zero body fat on her. So, this led to many people to ask which Sarah Connor we would be getting from Emilia Clarke in the upcoming movie Terminator Genysis and it seems that the answer could be a bit of both.
In Terminator Genysis, the events of those first two Terminator movies have changed and now Sarah has been saved by the old Arnold Schwarzenegger Terminator, who has helped to raise Connor, who now calls him "Pops". This Sarah Connor seems to be a bit of a recluse but also has the highly trained skills. From the Terminator Genysis trailer, we expect that Emilia Clarke could give us the best of both Linda Hamilton portrayals and we cannot wait for the movie to hit the big screen so we can see exactly what she is going to give us.
Terminator Genysis is scheduled to hit the big screen on July 1 in the US and July 3 in the UK.
