When it was announced that the comic book character Quicksilver was going to join the X-Men movie franchise, there were quite a few people who felt that this was not a very good move. However, following the release of X-Men: Days of Future Past, most of these pessimistic fans were won over and looking forward to seeing the character return.
Evan Peters gave a very solid performance as Quicksilver in X-Men: Days of Future Past, with the character having the standout scene of the movie. Evan is back to reprise the role for the new movie X-Men: Apocalypse, and the actor has teased an even bigger and better scene from the character.
Peters was chatting to Collider, when he told them, "Yeah, Quicksilver does his thing again, in the new film. It’s bigger, longer and more detailed. I think it’s an amazing sequence that they’ve put together. Just filming it, I was like, “Oh, my god!” I think we shot for 22 days of second unit, working on the sequence, which is amazing."
He added, "It’s so cool to take that much time to make something like that really pop and really work. Knock on wood, I think it’s going to be a fun and enjoyable sequence for people to watch, with Quicksilver running around and doing his thing in slow-mo time. I hope people like it." We cannot wait to see it.
X-Men: Apocalypse is set to hit the big screen on May 19, 2016 in the UK, before then getting released on May 27, 2016 in the US.
