While we were initially sceptical of the idea of The Expendables, we have to admit that we have enjoyed each and every one of the three movies so far. It is fair to say that these films are never going to win any major awards and, as long as you take them for what they are, you really can enjoy the movies.
British actor Jason Statham has starred in all three of The Expendables movies so far and he has admitted that he loves working with Sylvester Stallone on the projects. Jason says that he is happy to keep on making The Expendables movies for as long as the fans continue to enjoy them.
Statham told IGN, "Working with Sylvester Stallone is beyond a 'pinch yourself' moment ... to be directed by him in a movie that he's produced, and to be shoulder-to-shoulder with Sly is a privilege anyone who loves action movies would never turn their nose up at."
He added, "I'll do as many as [Sylvester] wants. It's not my thing to dream up the ideas and what's in store. One, do I want to do another one? Two, are people tired of it already? You don't know."
While it is expected that we will get The Expendables 4 in the future, as well as The ExpendaBelles, a female version of the films, it seems that Sylvester Stallone is currently a very busy man. Sly is working on the fifth Rambo movie, which will be titled Rambo: Last Blood, leading to speculation that it will be the final instalment in the franchise.
As well as that, there is also the movie Creed, which will see him back as Rocky Balboa, this time training the grandson of Apollo Creed. We look forward to seeing them both and hopefully also The Expendables 4. Watch this space!
