John Wayne was a big Hollywood actor that made legendary films such as True Grit and the Alamo. Wayne was also known as “the Duke” and he was involved in politics as well as entertainment. Wayne was also a successful businessman who had many different ventures such as a lounge, a tennis club and a resort. When John Wayne was alive he would frequent the lounges and clubs in order to relax and socialize with his guests.
One of John Wayne’s former establishments is now being remodeled and renamed. Duke’s Place was a popular club and social spot for people who lived in Newport Beach, California when Wayne was alive. After he had passed away in 1979 the club remained opened in his honor. Currently, the club’s owners decided to redo the Wayne’s former place in order to make it modern and connected to the current population of Newport Beach.
Many of Wayne’s possessions, such as his mansion and private boat, have been torn down or sold off. A lot of the superstar’s former legacy is also diminishing as well. Many of the organizations that bore his name and image are no longer exist or have changed their names.
John Wayne will always be remembered for his work in film and politics but people might not be as enchanted with the actor’s accomplishments like they were once were in the past.
