When it was announced that a new Jumanji movie was going to be made, there were many fans all over the world who were not so sure about the reason or the need for the film, while worrying that it could harm what was so great about the original. Since then, we have seen plenty of promotional material for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and it does look like it could be a fun film.
British babe Karen Gillan plays one of the lead roles in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle and, despite receiving some criticism for her skimpy costume in the movie, she is very excited for fans to see it. Karen has admitted that she was a huge fan of the original Jumanji movie and she jumped at the chance to appear in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle, insisting that the fans will be pleased with this new film.
Gillan was chatting to WWD, when she explained to them, "I almost dropped everything in hands because I am the biggest fan of the original ever. It's in my top three films of all time. And I was instantly terrified and then protective over it. It is its own movie in its own right and it pays enough homage to the original, but it's going to keep fans of the original happy, I think - it certainly did for me."
As well as starring Karen Gillan, the rest of the impressive cast for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle includes such top Hollywood names as Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, and Kevin Hart, to name just a few. Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle has been directed by Jack Kasdan and is set to hit the big screen on December 20 in both the US and the UK.
