Actress Lena Dunham has been talking about her hit show Girls and the messages that the show tries to deliver to the viewers. Lena says that Girls definitely explores feminism and tries to show how women should have the same rights in the world that the men have.
Dunham was explaining to Playboy, "On Girls I like being a mouthpiece for the issues I think young females face today. It's always shocking when people question whether it's a feminist show. How could a show about women exploring women not be? Feminism isn't a dirty word."
She added, "It's not like we're a deranged group who think women should take over the planet, raise our young on our own and eliminate men from the picture. Feminism is about women having all the rights that men have."
Lena Dunham recently had a bit of a dig at Chris Brown and Rihanna, claiming that Rihanna is a bad role model for young women, by going back to Chris Brown after he was convicted of assaulting her.
Lena Dunham is set to reprise her role in Girls, when Girls season three premieres later in the year.
