Sometimes in Hollywood you get a director and an actor who enjoy working together so much, that they end up doing several movies with each other. Leonardo DiCaprio has already worked with Martin Scorsese on four projects and they have teamed up again for the film The Wolf of Wall Street.
Leonardo has now admitted that they were set to make the movie in 2007, before Scorsese decided to leave the project in 2008, due to financing issues. Leo says that he searched for a replacement director but decided to wait until Martin was free, as he did not want to work on the project with anyone else.
DiCaprio told New York magazine, "Marty directing was Jordan’s dream scenario, absolutely. When Marty couldn’t do it the first time, I set it up with a few other directors, but I never felt comfortable pulling the trigger. I was fixated on him (Scorsese). There wasn’t anybody else who could bring the rawness and toughness, the music, and particularly the humor required to convey the excitement of these young punks – these robber barons – taking on the Wall Street system."
The Wolf of Wall Street sees Leonardo DiCaprio on the screen with Matthew McConaughey, Jonah Hill, Jon Favreau and Margot Robbie, with the movie set to hit the big screen on November 15 in the US, before heading to the UK on January 17, 2014.
