With the new Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens just a few more weeks away from its big release, there has been a huge amount of talk about the franchise and what we can expect in the future. We already know that there are plans for a number of Star Wars spinoff movies, and we will no doubt get to see a young Lando Calrissian popping up in at least one of them, but which actor should be cast in the role? Here we take a look at a few of the possible candidates for the role.
When it comes to young black actors, there are not many who are as talented as Michael B. Jordan, who has shown time and again that he has what it takes to mix it with the best that Hollywood has to offer. Unfortunately for Michael, he has that black mark on his resume, after playing the role of Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch in the huge flop Fantastic Four, which could hinder his future. Let's hope it doesn't.
Next up we have another very impressive actor, who has also given us some impressive performances over the past few years, and that is none other than the very talented Donald Glover. A few Star Wars fans have already mentioned his name as a possible young Lando Calrissian, but the backing of the fans can sometimes be the kiss of death for an actor after a big role. We will just have to wait and see.
Finally we have the young Jaden Smith, who has been quite hit and miss during his acting career so far. With Will Smith as your father and Jada Pinkett-Smith as your mother, you must have some acting talent and, with the right role, in the right movie, along with the right script and director, surely he can give us a strong performance. Whether or not that is as Lando Calrissian in a Star Wars spinoff movie is another matter.
Who do you think should play Lando Calrissian in the Star Wars spinoff movies?
