Michelle Williams is a perennial Oscar favorite, and there is buzz that she might be back at the Kodak theater next year for her performance in Suite Francaise.
Suite Francaise stars Matthias Schoenarts as the love interest to Michelle's character, where the story focuses on the 'early years of German occupation of France, where romance blooms between a French villager and a German soldier.'
Williams is already a recipient of three Oscar nominations, one for her supporting work in Brokeback Mountain and another two for her leading roles in Blue Valentine and My Week With Marilyn. Although it's too early to start calling the shots for the 2014 Oscar race, considering 2013 is barely underway, the script and subject matter for Suite Francaise are already considered sure-fire Oscar bait. If Williams pulls off her usual high-caliber performance in the film, it's not hard to see why she would be a favorite for yet another nomination.
In fact, the only factor that might be holding it back is the fact that it might be too small to get noticed. However, the high quality of the cast and the caliber of the cast and crew should really be enough to make sure it lands on Academy voters radar.
