British actress Mischa Barton rose to fame in the hit television series The O.C. and she soon become swallowed up by the whole being famous thing. Mischa feels like she was hounded from then on and had a very publicised DUI incident in 2007, before then being sectioned in 2009. Mischa has been talking about her issues with fame, admitting that she would not wish it on her worst enemy.
Barton told Look magazine, "I don't think I was quite ready. We had no private lives and were followed mercilessly. It's tough to have every moment of your life documented and never be allowed downtime. I wouldn't wish that on my worst enemy. I feel like people are still harping on about things that happened to me ages ago - for some reason they're still fascinated by it. But it's like night and day for me - I'm a completely different person."
She added, "I've grown up. I feel confident in myself again these days. I've become smarter over the years - I stay out of the public eye and go out in Hollywood once in a blue moon. I like to go to the pub for Sunday lunch with my family. It's things like that I value the most when I'm in London. My sister Zoe just had a baby so I see her and we mainly walk our basset hound in Hyde Park."
Mischa Barton recently opened up about her battle with depression, revealing how she let everything get on top of her and drag her down into a deep dark state. Mischa now admits that she is delighted that she is no longer hounded by the press, as she feels she can concentrate more on her acting work.
