With the X-Men movie franchise moving forward in time with the next movie, we are going to get a number of new stars joining the franchise, playing some of our favourite X-Men characters. The stunningly beautiful Olivia Munn takes on the role of Psylocke in X-Men: Apocalypse and it sounds like it is a role that she was destined to play. Olivia has been a big fan of the character for a very long time and has now gushed over getting to play the role.
Munn was chatting about her role and what drew her to the character, when she explained, "I’ve loved Psylocke for so long. She’s a really, really strong badass female character in this comic book world where a lot of times the women don’t get to be strong and badass. You see a lot of superheroes [who] don’t always want to kill, and they’ll avoid it if they can."
She added, "She’s never had a problem killing, and I like that she was the bad guy that had no problem being the bad guy. She’s telekinetic and telepathic so she can read your mind. She can create anything with her mind. To win any fights, she can just create a mountain and have it fall down on you, but she chooses to create a sword so she can kill up close and personal. I always thought that was really cool and badass."
Since Olivia Wilde was announced in the role of Psylocke for X-Men: Apocalypse, she has shared a number of pictures and videos of her journey in the role. Now, we are just a couple of months away from getting to see the actress in the role on the big screen, with X-Men: Apocalypse set for release on May 19 in the UK and May 27 in the US. We cannot wait!
