It appears that the One Direction boys have found themselves in a war of words with Piers Morgan, following a difference of opinion over David Beckham. Piers took to Twitter to say that David Beckham should retire but the One Direction lads were having none of it.
Morgan tweeted, "No serious top-flight team would sign Beckham for football reasons any more – he should retire gracefully."
Harry Styles then responded, "Beckham is my hero."
Morgan added, "Is that because he always runs in one direction?"
Louis Tomlinson then got involved, tweeting, "I LOVE David Beckham!"
Morgan replied, "Well sign him up for the group - bet he sings better than he plays now."
Adding, "Can't believe I'm currently being sledged about Beckham by TWO members of One Direction. Boy-band types clearly stick together."
Harry Styles then looked to Uncle Simon to help, “Hiiii @SimonCowell can you tell @piersmorgan to leave us alone please? He's being nasty.”
Morgan tweeted back, “Now got roughly 25 million One Directioners abusing me - many thanks @Harry_Styles @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson.”
One Direction then tried to get #PiersMorganIsSmelly trending on Twitter.
Piers then laid down the gauntlet, saying, “So, #PiersMorganIsSmelly is now trending worldwide, is it? Right, @Harry_Styles @Real_Liam_Payne @Louis_Tomlinson - this is WAR.”
“Let's settle this on my CNN show when you come to New York - if you're brave enough.”
However, Liam Payne simply replied: “No hard feelings stinky.”
Do you think One Direction should take up the offer and appear on Piers Morgan’s show?
