Priyanka Chopra has endeared herself to Bollywood film fans with the revelation that even though she is playing the starring role in the much anticipated television series “Quantico” she still views herself as a Hindi film star (Times of India - August 16).
The popularity of the gorgeous, Indian actress is at an all-time high as her picture is on billboards and digital screens in New York and in television clips promoting her new show “Quantico” but she has kept a level head as demonstrated by her balancing her Hollywood and Bollywood film responsibilities.
She disclosed how she has ensured with her Hollywood contract, that she would have ample time to fly back and forth between the United States, Montreal, Canada where “Quantico” is being filmed and India where she will return to film the final sequences of Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s romance “Bajirao Mastani” and this information has Bollywood fans on social media very excited.
Some fans seem to have been very concerned that she would forget about her Bollywood/Hindi roots but she quashed those fears with her statement that she does not look at Bollywood as a stepping stone to the West and she is not in any hurry to sign a Hollywood film.
Priyanka Chopra is an actress who is “greedy only for great roles” but irrespective of wherever she films her roles the one thing she leaves no doubt about is that she will always be first and foremost a Hindi film star, a disclosure that has Indian film fans overjoyed and will likely result in much fan support from Indian fans for all her projects whether they take place in Bollywood or Hollywood.
