Back in the late 1990s and early 2000s we got some very good teenage rom-com movies, which made superstars of the actors involved in the projects. One of our favourite movies from that time would have to be the very impressive She's All That, which starred Hollywood actors Freddie Prinze Jr and Rachael Leigh Cook as onscreen love interests, but it seems that their off-screen friendship was not all that strong.
Rachael Leigh Cook has been talking about her time shooting the movie with Freddie Prinze Jr, admitting that once the film was completed, the two of them did not keep in touch and actually had not seen one another since. With a 20 year reunion expected to happen in 2019, Rachael decided that she wanted to meet up with Freddie now, rather than wait, so the two of them enjoyed a coffee date together.
The actress told Access Hollywood, "I remember someone saying, 'Wow, that'll be 20 years ago pretty soon', and I was like, 'I am not gonna see him for the first time at a 20-year reunion! I can't handle that number!' I think it's been 17 years now, and I remember wanting to contact Freddie after Paul Walker died, remember thinking, life is crazy. It'll just be sad for life to let us go in different directions and not catch up one of these days."
She added, "so I just reached out and we had a great coffee hangout and he's just an incredible person, he's doing amazing things. We were friends making the movie and over the course of the shoot, but frankly, we just weren't people who kept in touch. We didn't run in the same social circles, so... we just didn't keep in touch, but it was really good to see him. We're sort of like, new friends again."
How nice is it that these two have reunited after all these years. Let's hope and pray that this could even lead to the two of them coming together again to make a new movie in the near future.
