Things have not exactly been going great for singer songwriter Robin Thicke over the past few years, in both his personal life and his career. While the song Blurred Lines proved a huge hit, the song was actually a rip off of an old Marvin Gaye track, which does not look good on Robin. Meanwhile, the music star saw his marriage to actress Paula Patton falling apart.
Robin Thick and Paula Patton were together from a very young age and, as well as getting married, they also have son Julian together. Following the split, Robin tried his hardest to win Paula back, even releasing the album Paula, which was hugely criticised and was considered a massive flop. Now, the musician has admitted that he wishes he had given the album away, rather than selling it.
Thicke explained, "As an artist I have no regrets because as a writer you write what you feel, you have to express yourself and give it away. But, as an entertainer, I felt like I should have just given it away for free instead of promote it or make it part of my entertainer's process. I feel like it was so pure and personal that if I just would have given it away then it would have kept the purity of the feeling."
He added, "I came right off a tour and I had all these songs and all these ideas and feelings in my heart and I went right into the studio. I wrote all the songs in about three weeks and we recorded the album in about a month. Obviously all the songs were about her or about how I feel about her. A lot of songwriters have done this kind of thing before. They won't tell you in the title or they'll be suggestive. I was just like, 'There's no reason to hide who this is about'. It's all about her."
Robin Thicke has since been trying to move on with his life and he has been dating the beautiful model April Geary since October 2014.
