There is nobody in the world who can deny that the Marvel Cinematic Universe is absolutely destroying the DC Extended Universe, when it comes to the battle of the comic book movie films. While Marvel seem to keep knocking their movies out of the park, it seems that the opposite is true for the DC Extended Universe, with only the Wonder Woman movie proving a big hit all round.
There has been a lot of talk about the DC Extended Universe recently, due to the fact that Jon Berg has been replaced by Walter Hamada, who now has the unenviable job of trying to fix the big mess that the DCEU has gotten itself into. There has been talk of actors quitting, talks of multiple actors playing the same role, and talk of their being solo movies that are not linked together at all.
Some of the things that have been suggested about the future of the DCEU really does sound ridiculous and is never going to please the fans, who are already annoyed with what has been happening for the past few years. However, one of the things that has been mentioned, and could have the potential to work, is just to forget about what has been happening and instead start from scratch.
Unfortunately though, this is never going to happen, as Warner Bro. and DC already have a number of new, up and coming movies which are in production, including the Aquaman movie, the Shazam! movie and the Wonder Woman sequel, not to mention the confusing The Batman project. But, iff these solo movies do go on to have as much success as Wonder Woman, then maybe that is the way for them to go in the future.
We are not optimistic for the future of the DC Extended Universe, and Walter Hamada really does have his work cut out, so it will be interesting to see just what direction he does choose to go.
