It is fair to say that, while the Marvel Cinematic Universe is continuing to knock it out of the park with every new movie, the DC Extended Universe is still struggling to keep up, with a string of highly criticised films in recent months and years. However, there is still a game plan over at Warner Brothers and the comic book fans are still hopeful that they can get their act together over the next few years.
The DCEU has brought together a very impressive list of Hollywood names, including bagging Willem Dafoe to take on the role of Vulko in both Justice League and Aquaman. Well, Willem has now been talking about taking on the role, sharing that his character will be introduced in the Justice League movie, before then taking on a bigger role in the Aquaman film.
Dafoe was chatting the The Guardian, when he told them, "Well, Justice League is very particular because it’s an ensemble movie and my character is being introduced here in order to be a principal role in Aquaman. These films are a different experience. They have different responsibilities, different resources and different intentions. It’s nice to go between those worlds if you can. They serve different impulses."
The Justice League movie is set to hit the big screen on November 17, 2017 in both the US and the UK, while the Aquaman film is set for release on July 27, 2018. We cannot wait to see what the future hold for the DCEU and we hope that they can finally deliver some fantastic comic book movies for us.
