When it was announced that Marvel were going to bring us a Black Panther movie, we were all interested to see just how well it would be received and whether it would be able to go on to be as big a hit as the other recent projects in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Well nobody needed to worry, as Black Panther has gone on to become one of the biggest and most successful movies in the MCU, passing the $1.3b mark worldwide.

While everybody has been talking about how great the Black Panther movie is and how it could have a positive impact on future movies featuring strong black characters, there is someone who feels a little bit different. Samuel L Jackson has been talking about the success of Black Panther and Samuel says that he does not believe that it will actually make that much of a difference to Hollywood.
Jackson shared, "I’m not positive that Black Panther is going to change the dynamic of black stories being told in Hollywood and being accepted all over the world. It’s an action-adventure story and a lot of people like those, and they’ll work all over the world forever because everybody loves a hero."

He added, "But not everybody loves a drama about somebody’s life experience – that’s why awards have a separate category for foreign films; they are perceived as being different. Once we stop perceiving them as different and just see them as good films and they get recognized in the same category, we’ll be laying markers."
Well, whether Samuel L Jackson is right or not, there is no denying that Black Panther has become a huge success and we cannot wait to see more from the characters involved.
